The most attractive 520, fauna and flora, exponents for this part of the North-West Bulgaria are shown in the Museum of Natural Science in Belogradchik. It can be seen: Imperial Eagle; The Blue Crow; Vulture, The bird of Minerva, Black Stork, Flacon, Wild-Boar, Sleepiness, Roe, Deer, Otter, Marten, Fox, Wolf, Land Tortoise, etc. A lot of the represented animals are included in the Red Book of Bulgaria and they can be met only in the area of Belogradchik. Many years ago the bigger European cat (known as Euro-Asian Lynx) lived in the forests of Belogradchik. Moreover this kind of animal can come back. This is because of the Lynx which inhabits Serbia and broaden his area of population to Belogradchik. Plenty of interesting plants can be observed in this region. Some of them are specific like orchids, red sempervivum, crocus, sedum, etc. and can be met only in Belogradchik. Also in the museum can be faced gorgeous photos of the beautiful rocks as well as town’s view. In addition to all the above there is a department which aim is to learn birds’ migration. Regular visitors of science museum Belogradchik are students and scientific workers. Here they can find photos, general data of the made studies and full range of specialized library. Working time: before lunch: 8 a.m. - 12a.m., after lunch: 14p.m. - 17p.m.
